Emergency Medical Services
The Emergency Medical Services program is designed to prepare individuals for the National Registry Paramedic exam and to be confident EMS team leaders and pre-hospital practitioners. The curriculum combines intense classroom instruction with skill laboratories and extensive clinical experiences. The program follows national education standards and is authorized as a training center by the Board of Maine EMS.
The Emergency Medical Services Program is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Programs, upon recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
Several educational options are available to students. The multiple entry/multiple exit program permits students to exit after completion of specific course requirements and be eligible to take the national certification exams for EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic. Students completing all EMS courses as well as the general education courses will earn an associate degree in EMS.
